Project Summary
CITYMOVE aims to tackle the complex problem of car dependency and supporting sustainable multimodal mobility in the Adriatic-Ionian region. The common problems of all partners involved in the project are the lack of infrastructure that supports urban mobility and the lack of awareness of the excessive use of cars. Overall objective of the project is to contribute to reducing car dependency through infrastructure improvement and promoting the use of eco-mobility means in the territory of Adriatic-Ionian region.
The main outputs of the project are creating urban mobility city network (CITYMOVE network) and pilot urban mobility solutions.
The main activities includes: the infrastructural improvement through the installation of urban mobility equipment and software (Bar, Mostar, Biograd, NPazar, MSVN, Gubbio, MAT and KANTANOS); the development of joint safe walking/cycling maps by the LP and its subsequent implementation for each of the PPs; the creation of the Local Urban Mobility Plans, the creation of the Sustainable Transnational Mobility Plan; signing of one Cooperation Agreement during the Final Conference in Bar by all PPs and APs; the delivery of the Project communication Strategy and products/tools; organization of Car-Free Day for promoting healthy lifestyles on 8 locations and 8 local cycle races in all partner cities and organization of 3 Urban Mobility Days, with workshops focused on sustainable urban mobility (in Biograd, Mostar and Kantanos).
The main beneficiaries of the project’s implementation include sport organizations, environmental organizations, NGOs, and other local citizens’ communities.
Local public authorities, as well as the general public and tourists.
Project cooperation will result in designing shared approaches which, once adapted at the local level of the partner territories, will enhance the spreading of good practices and the promotion of multimodal mobility solutions in the whole region. The integration of novel multimodal transportation solutions created in the process of the project's implementation and organizing urban mobility events will, while raising awareness of the wider population promoting reducing car dependency.
